Always be sure that you own your domain name. The last thing you want is some cranky web designer or unethical company holding your domain name hostage over a disagreement. Your domain name is like your online identity. Own it, protect it, and control it. That way if you don’t like the service of your current website provider, you can take your domain name somewhere else and get a new hosting plan or have a new website built for it.
